Research at the department has a strong international focus. In recent years, our researchers have published work in leading international journals such as The Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, The Journal of Political Economy, The Review of Economic Studies, The American Economic Review and top field journals.

Many researchers are members of networks such as the CEPR and CESifo. We sustain a number of research collaborations with scholars around the world, and host numerous international visitors each year. Our faculty members have recently spent extended periods of time at top universities like UC Berkeley and Stanford. The department is host to The Scandinavian Journal of Economics, and members of our faculty serve as Editors and Associate Editors of leading scientific journals.

The department organizes a weekly higher seminar with presentations by invited, mainly international, guests. There is also a weekly Brown-bag seminar where ongoing research is presented, a biweekly workshop in Applied Microeconomics and a monthly Macro Reading Group.
