Developing a pedagogic toolbox for CLIL/EMI; teaching and learning in an additional language
CIVIS has launched a series of workshops on innovative pedagogies dedicated to academics coming from all fields of expertise. The main aim of these events is to share expertise in higher education teaching and learning and stimulate pedagogical innovation at the grassroots.

Workshop: Design teaching for active learning in our active learning classrooms (ALC)
One of the constant issues in all forms of education is how to plan teaching in such a way as to activate, challenge and motivate students. Research has demonstrated the value of interactive and collaborative forms of teaching where the students get opportunities to grapple with complex tasks in the form of scenarios, case studies or problems where theories and practice meet. In this workshop you will experience activities in an ALC room and we will use this teaching technique to learn about and discuss the thinking and research behind active learning.
