Hovbeslag accommodation area is located within walking distance from Stockholm University Campus Frescati. Here we rent out a total of 3 rooms in a shared accommodation. It is not possible to choose who to share the accommodation with.
Location and room information
Hovbeslag (the Ferrier’s House) is located in the campus area called Kräftriket near Lake Brunnsviken, a 10 minute walk to Campus Frescati. Kräftriket is an area with older historical buildings and have a rich academic background. Hovbeslag is a large three story house with fourteen apartments for international guest researchers, PhD students and exchange students. The house was built in 1911 and it is owned by Akademiska Hus. It has been carefully renovated to preserve the historical interior architecture and is classified by the state as having high cultural value. Due to this, all tenants who stay here are required to accept some very specific rules that are in place to preserve the historical interior architecture. These rules are specified on your rent contract.
For exchange students the available option at Hovbelsag is a shared accommodation with 3 rooms. It is not possible to choose who to share the accommodation with.
All accommodations at Hovbeslag are located on the ground floor. The studio apartment has wheelchair accessibility. Therefore, students that need that type of accommodation will have priority.
Please note that the corridor rooms at Hovbeslag are only for single occupancy and are only available for exchange students. All other international students are not eligible for this accommodation.
You cannot choose a specific room or a specific room size on the accommodation application. However, you may specify if you would prefer a smaller room (cheaper rent) or a bigger room (more expensive) on "additional information" on the application form.
Also note that you must choose three different types of accommodation when you fill out the housing application. If you receive an offer, we will try to give you your first option, but please note that this might not be possible, and we cannot guarantee that the offer will be for one of these three options.
The studio is furnished with curtains, a wardrobe, a bed (size: 200 cm long and 140 cm wide) and a kitchen table with two chairs. The kitchen consists of a refrigerator with freezer compartment, cupboards and a stove (with oven and hot plates).
The bedrooms in the shared three bedroom apartment are furnished with curtains, a bed (size: 200 cm long and 90 cm wide), a wardrobe and also a study desk with a chair. The kitchen/common area has a kitchen table with four chairs, a refrigerator with freezer compartment, cupboards, a stove (with oven and hot plates) a dishwasher and also a couch.
A broom, mop and bucket are provided for both apartments, however tenants are responsible for buying other cleaning supplies needed during their lease. Cooking utensils and dinnerware are not provided by the Housing Office, so you may have to purchase these items. However, there may be kitchen articles left by previous tenants that you can use. You must also bring your own quilt, pillow, sheets and towels.
Rent and rent payments
All accommodation is rented out on a semester basis and charged accordingly. The rent for the single studio apartment is SEK 32 340 per semester. The rent for a room in the shared three bedroom apartment varies between SEK 29 170 and SEK 39 780 per person per semester, depending on the size of the room.
The rent in both accommodations include heating, cold water, hot water, electricity and internet (Wi-Fi). Please note that Excessive use of electricity will be charged extra.
The rent will be paid in two installments. For more payment information log into your accommodation account.
Internet (Wi-Fi) is included in all apartments at Hovbeslag. Each apartment has a router with information about the name of the network and the password. You are not allowed to change the password.
When you arrive you will receive one apartment key and one electronic badge for waste disposal.
