Idun accommodation area is located in Vasastan close to the city center. Here we rent a total of 84 studios that are available to international students at Stockholm University.

Idun is located north of the city center, in the area called Vasastan. This apartment complex with 7 floors was built in 1968 and is owned by SSSB. In 2013 an additional 84 studio apartments were built and these are the ones that are available from the Housing Office at Stockholm University. All studio apartments are between 20-29 square meters, have combined living area/sleeping area/kitchen area and private bathroom with shower and WC. The kitchen area has a stove (with oven and hot plates), a refrigerator with a freezer compartment.

The Idun apartments are intended for double occupancy (2 students of the same gender sharing one apartment) but they can also be rented out for single occupancy (1 student living alone in one apartment). When making an accommodation application you cannot choose a specific size or floor. You can however, specify under "additional information" if you would prefer a small room, a big room, a room on the ground floor, the cheapest room and so on.

If you want to share a studio apartment with another student, please specify in the application that you want to share. If you have a specific student that you want to share with, please include the name of that student in your application. If you do not have a specific student in mind to share with, Housing Office will choose your roommate (it will be another international student with the same gender as you).

If you do not want to share the apartment or if the person you want to share with is your partner (and that person is not an international student at Stockholm University), please specify that you do not want to share. When you have received an accommodation offer you must then give the Housing Office the name of your partner so that we can arrange an extra key to the apartment. Please note that if you specify that you do not want to share, only your name will be on the contract, and you are thus responsible to pay the full rent for the apartment.

Also note that you must choose three different types of accommodation when you fill out the housing application. If you receive an offer, we will try to give you your first option, but please note that this might not be possible, and we cannot guarantee that the offer will be for one of these three options.

All Idun apartments are furnished with a bunk bed, mattresses (size: 200 cm long and 90 cm wide), wardrobes, dining table, two chairs, and lamps. The furniture is the same for all apartments and we are not able to change, remove or add any furniture. You must bring your own quilt, pillow, sheets, towels and network cable.

Cooking utensils, dinnerware and cleaning articles are not supplied by the Housing Office.  However, these items may have been left by the previous tenant for your use.

All accommodation is rented out on a semester basis and charged accordingly.

The rent for one semester per person for a shared apartment is between SEK 17 260 and SEK 24 282. The rent for one semester if you rent the apartment by yourself is between SEK 34 520 and SEK 48 570.

The rent includes heating, cold water, hot water, electricity and internet (not Wi-Fi). Excessive use of electricity will be charged extra.

The rent is paid in two installments. For more payment information please log into your accommodation account.

Internet is included in the rent, however we do not supply Wi-Fi. You must bring your own network cable to be able to use the internet, and also a router to be able to use Wi-Fi. Please note that network cables or routers from other countries may not work in Sweden, so we suggest you buy it in Stockholm.

When you arrive you will receive one apartment key and one electronic badge for entrance and common spaces. You may be required to buy your own padlock for your postbox.
