Housing for international students
Stockholm University rents and manages furnished rooms and apartments which are owned by other landlords in Stockholm. These are available to international students at Stockholm University.
Apply for accommodation:
– Exchange students
All admitted exchange students will receive information via email on how to apply for accommodation from Housing Office. Please read more about the process and who is eligible at the link below.
– Other international students
All international students at Stockholm University are eligible to apply for accommodation from Housing Office from May 18th. However, please note that exchange students are a prioritized group and due to a high demand for housing from this group we might not be able to offer freemovers housing for autumn 2022. Please see link for more information.

Finding accommodation in Stockholm
Stockholm University has a limited amount of housing, and therefore we cannot offer accommodation to all international students that have applied. For those that we cannot offer housing, please see advice below on how to find housing on the private market.

Housing areas
Idun
Idun accommodation area is located in Vasastan close to the city center. Here we rent a total of 84 studios that are available to both exchange students and international master students.
Kungshamra
Kungshamra accommodation area is located a short bus ride north of Stockholm University Campus Frescati. Here we rent a total of 86 corridor rooms that are available to exchange students at Stockholm University.
Kurland
Kurland accommodation area is located in the city center. Here we rent a total of 18 corridor rooms that are available to exchange students, international master students, PhD students and guest researchers at Stockholm University.
Kräftriket (Hovbeslag)
Hovbeslag accommodation area is located within walking distance from Stockholm University Campus Frescati. Here we rent out a total of 3 rooms in a shared accommodation. It is not possible to choose who to share the accommodation with.

Lappis accommodation area is located within walking distance from Stockholm University Campus Frescati. Here we rent a total of 266 corridor rooms that are available to exchange students at Stockholm University.

Nora Torg accommodation area is located in the northern part of the city, close to Mörby Centrum and not far from Stockholm University. Here we rent 28 studio apartments that are available to international students and researchers at Stockholm University.
